There is a field.

Sunday, June 28, 2015. That’s the date stamped on the book receipt. Not nearly the first time I read Rumi by any means, but the date I acquired my first physical copy. Ancient Rumi. Your sensuous syllables deserve more than digital pixels, let you live as ink on a page, object on the shelf of someone’s adoration forever.

Reading Rumi is a hand on the hand on shoulder “Everything is going to be OK” kind comfort, except you really believe it coming from him. Something in these translations. Whatever is going on in my world, I can pull this book from the shelf and a few pages later I am leagues away from where I was when I began, mystical indeed.

Right now, I am feeling the need to calm a little chaos. Exciting chaos. Business is a funny thing. It’s all an experiment. I’m not a stranger to developing products– my current business, Whiled Flowers, is somewhat uniquely a product and a service that I am very directly involved with from production and experience start to finish. However a new offering I’m working on feels a little less controlled.. a riskier investment, further away from the feedback of you, but I am learning. Sorry for the mystery. In time.

“Ideas of wrongdoing. Ideas of rightdoing.”

Needless to say, I needed the “calming” section of the shelf this week..

What do you turn to when you need to quiet the mind?

Not quiet, soften.
