It was a bit of a rough week. I oscillated between duty + emotion. You know those states where something happens and your orbit really just shifts? That was this week. Not a week for usual luxuries of time and creating. As I was sat in a very specific observed state, I started thinking about wave-particle duality…
When I feel knocked out of my orbit, I find comfort in physics.
Maybe it’s the idea that there is an “order” to chaos.
Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow’s “The Grand Design” is an approachable first foray into physics, if you are of the sort who’s open to the beginning of life, how we got here, why we are here, etc.
If you are even more eager, might I suggest pairing the aforementioned with Coursera’s “Particle Physics” online course? I stumbled across it during the pandemic, when in lieu of losing my mind, I tried conditioning it. Naturally, I came out with many questions so if anyone feels like going into the 5th with me…
I find it poetic to approach the idea of infinity and unknown, whether it’s attempting to understand the abstract with numbers and science or pure fascination and wonder.
